By now, most Americans know that health care reform in this country is in deep trouble. But you wouldn’t know that by talking to Obama.
In private, Obama rallies battle-fatigued staff with a bullish posture – constantly assuring his soldiers “victory is imminent.”
According to Daily News, Obama has told his aides “Don’t get down.”- During meetings where emotion have obviously boiled over. Robert Gibbs has described Obama as: the Ed Harris figure in the Apollo 13. The lesson Obama has teaching, “failure is not an option.”
A close aid has said that Obama has shown flashes of frustration and irritation – both at dissenting Democrats and Republicans alike, according to Daily News. However, he has also said that he feel he has made progress amid the chaos.
The majority of the House and Senate are fully aware that something has to be done about heath care but the enthusiasm seems to be contained to the Obama camp for the time being. Obama has little work to do convincing Democrats that his view on health care is the best for the nation.
Once source in the Senate said that “if you are not totally against it, you should get on board,” according to Daily News. Obama has been pushed and pulled by liberals who want more reform and conservatives who see the bill as recipe for disaster. This comes all at a time when no one knows what the final bill will look like.
A new ABC poll last week found that a majority of Americans disapprove of Obama’s performance on health care. This is down from April when a previous poll found that had a 2-1 positive on his performance.
I was rationalizing on this issue last evening and I resolved to search the web for more info. Your blog came up in my search and I’m impress what you have penned on this theme. As I’m currently expanding my search and thus cannot contribute further, however, I’ve bookmarked it and will be returning to further comment. Like I said, love this comment and will be back soon.
Fantastic website, I recently came across it and I’m already a fan.
