GangPlank
With the stigma looming over the economy, businesses are looking to newer and more innovative ways to beat the recession. They are pulling out the stops when it comes to getting new ideas off the ground. One unique organization that has sprung up has been a local phoenix business by the name of GangPlank. While GangPlank is a traditional business on paper, there is nothing traditional about the way they operate.
If you visit their website at gangplankhq.com, they would appear to present themselves more as pirates than anything else. But, this is only half true. The GangPlankers come together in a way that is very much like a crew of a ship. Each one of them has their own special talents and abilities. The captain of the crew is not just one person, but instead that role is filled by the visionary of the project at the moment. With a crew that is constantly growing, they have many projects on their plate at one time.
The Plankers have a few major projects that they work on and support like DateDesigner.com; a place where people can build the perfect date just like one could build a pizza. They also have developed a seating chart program that allows users to easily setup a space with completely customizable spaces, tables, and seats to be used for weddings, conferences, and parties. GangPlank crew members also work on various side projects that are too numerous to name here and also top secret.
Anyone can become a Planker. All are welcome, as long as one maintains their code of honor which can be found on their site. In the end GangPlank is more of a community of professionals than a business. They uphold an affinity for the sharing of ideas. Castaways from the norm, the co-op of entrepreneurs has established a new benchmark in collaborative networking. The crew over at GangPlank is constantly coming up with new ideas; one shouldn’t be surprised if the new YouTube, MySpace, or Google does not spring up from their think tank.
